World O’pen Cup 2010 is go !
After a wonderful and festive opening ceremony at the Trois Ilets Golf Course, the 2010 World O'pen Cup, the biggest event of the year on the O'pen BIC calendar, is now underway! While strong snow storms in Europe and the USA this past week have made travelling difficult, up to 40 competitors from 5 countries still made the trip to the sun and warmth of Martinique! Team Miami USA, located close to the West Indies, make up one of the biggest teams and are ready to test their speed and sailing tactics against the best French & the local Martinique team, who have been training seriously in a special camp for the past week. A giant catamaran is following the action and serves as a grandstand for the parents and journalists. So the sun is shining, the sea and the water at least 28°C, the wind is blowing 10-15 knots, the Committee Boat is about to announce the first start sequence... let's go!!!
